Capricorn, The Sea-Goat, is an astrological sign, which originated from the constellation Capricornus, and is the tenth sign of the zodiac. Capricorn is classed as a negative or feminine, introverted sign; its element is Earth and its quality is cardinal. Traditionally, in Astrology, Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn.
The opposite sign to Capricorn is Cancer.
Under the tropical zodiac, Capricorn is occupied by the Sun from December 22 → January 19, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from January 15 → February 12.
Capricorn is associated with the 10th house. The corresponding month in the Babylonian calendar is Arax Tebêtum, dedicated to Pap-sukkal, the messenger of the gods. It is the least common zodiac sign.
